My life with horses began when my parents purchased their foundation mare, a double bred King great-granddaughter, in 1965, hauling her from New Mexico to Kansas. They raised many generations from that mare, even hauling her back to New Mexico to breed her to Mr. Goldbrick, son of the great stallion Question Mark. My show mare came from that daughter, when they bred her to Lads Imprint. This proved to be a great cross, and I had 23 wonderful years with my mare. Unfortunately, she had to be registered Paint Breeding Stock because of an inch too much white on one leg (that ruling has since been changed), and I sold her daughter and granddaughter to get back into Quarter Horses. My parents taught me a lot about horses, although I didn't realize it until I was out on my own! They were very selective about the stallions they bred to, always with the goal of improving the Quarter Horse breed. We continue to do the same, although our bloodlines have changed. We currently stand a cutting bred stallion, Black Little Blake, and have two mares that are Zan Parr Bar and Dash for Cash bred. We occasionally offer babies for sale, and we always welcome visitors. Any new horse connection is a good one!
